EkTrek ("EkTrek", "the App", "we", "us", or "our") is a Himalayan trekking companion application and website operated by Ek Ra Sunya Inc ("the Company"). This Privacy Policy explains what information EkTrek does and does not collect, how any information is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the EkTrek mobile application, the EkTrek website (ektrek.ekrasunya.com), and related services (together, the "Services").

By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

EkTrek is designed to be anonymous and offline-first. You do not need an account to browse treks, plan an itinerary, use the map, or read safety information. We do not require your name, email, or phone number, and we do not build advertising profiles about you. This section is a summary; the sections below are the full detail.

- No account or identity data. EkTrek has no user login for general use. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, or any government identifier in order for you to use the Services. - No advertising identifiers and no third-party ad tracking. EkTrek contains no advertisements and no advertising SDKs. We do not use the Android Advertising ID or Apple's IDFA. - No analytics profiling. EkTrek does not embed third-party analytics SDKs that build a profile of you across apps or sessions.

EkTrek can access your device's location only while you are using the App ("when in use") in order to show your current position on the map as you follow a trail.

- Your location is processed on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers, not stored by us, and not shared with any third party. - EkTrek does not track your location in the background. - You may deny or revoke the location permission at any time in your device settings. The rest of the App continues to work without it; you simply will not see your live position on the map.

- Trek plans and saved treks you create are stored locally on your device (in the App's local storage). They are not uploaded to us. - Downloaded trek content and map data (the offline region bundle and map tiles) are cached on your device so the App works without a signal. - Uninstalling the App removes this locally stored data.

To provide trek content and maps, the App and website make the following requests. These requests deliver public content to your device and do not include your personal data:

- EkTrek content service (`ektrek-api.ekrasunya.com`): the App downloads public trek information - routes, stages, tea houses, waypoints, and safety content - over an encrypted HTTPS/TLS connection. - Map tiles are requested from OpenTopoMap / OpenStreetMap to render the map. These are standard map-tile requests. Your use of those maps is also subject to the providers' own terms and privacy practices.

We do not sell, rent, or trade any information about you, because we do not collect personal information about you in the first place.

All network communication between the App/website and our services uses industry- standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Because we do not collect or store personal data about individual users on our servers, there is no personal profile of you for us to lose.

EkTrek is a general-audience travel and navigation application intended for adults (18 and over). It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Because EkTrek does not collect personal data server-side, there is no personal account for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. Data stored on your own device is under your control and is removed by deleting the relevant plan within the App or by uninstalling the App. If you believe we hold any information about you and wish to enquire, contact us using the details below.

EkTrek is offered by Ek Ra Sunya Inc, based in Nepal. The public content you download is served from our infrastructure. As no personal data is collected, no cross-border transfer of your personal data occurs through normal use of the Services.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
